At the outer rim joist perpendicular to the main deck boards, measure 4 ¾ inches from the edge and place a chalk line or laser level.
Use a circular saw with a fine carbide blade and set the depth to ⅞ inches. Cut the main boards along the chalk line, creating a clean line to place the picture frame board.
Using a single-grooved board, cut to length with a 45 degree angle at corner.
On the outer rim joist parallel with the main boards, slide the single-grooved deck board securely into place. If using Step-Clip for Kebony, ensure the step-clip strip is properly engaged in the groove of the board.
Screw down the outer edge of the board at each joist location using #8 Stainless Steel screws or the Pro Plug System for Kebony. When face-fastening, always pre-drill.
Cut the perpendicular frame board to length including the 45 degree angle and fasten using #8 Stainless Steel screws or the Pro Plug System for Kebony. When face-fastening, always pre-drill.
