Powder Mountain Residence

Powder Mountain Residence is located in Eden, UT, atop the snow-covered slopes. This luxury private residence includes a large deck and windows that overlook the stunning surrounding landscape. Clad in custom charred Kebony modified wood, the exterior of the home perfectly contrasts the white snow, and will withstand the extreme winter climate.

Big Bear Lake House

Located in Big Bear Lake, California, this picturesque lakeside residence is a modern complement to its natural surroundings. The home is clad in Kebony Clear modified wood, a sustainable wood that is durable enough to withstand the elements. As the home ages gracefully, the exterior cladding will fade into a natural silver-gray patina.

Hammerfest Cabin

The idyllic Hammerfest cabin is one of several cabins that can be found near hiking areas in the mountains of Norway. These isolated sanctuaries exist to make treks through the mountains more accessible for hikers and explorers of all experience levels. The views of the natural landscape in this part of Europe are stunning, but many have had difficulty making the hikes to see them. Kebony Character cladding provides a unique appearance, as well as resistance to wear and weathering in a harsher climate. The cladding outfits the hexagonal panels that form the exterior of the cabin. A large window allows hikers to still enjoy the incredible surrounding views while resting.

Arctic Hideaway

The Arctic Hideaway is nestled in the mountains of Fleinvaer, Norway. This extraordinary work of architecture attracts artists from all over the world looking to “disconnect to connect”. Kebony cladding was used for the exterior for its reliable durability in the harsh winter climate. Constructing the suspended element required significant planning for wind and weather resistance, and building a sustainable and maintenance-free structure was imperative. Kebony was also the perfect material selection because it blends seamlessly with the Norwegian landscape, bringing out a sense of natural harmony.

Illusuak Cultural Centre

The Illusuak Cultural Centre was completed in the fall of 2017 and stands as a proud celebration of the region’s Inuit heritage. Illusuak is an Inuktitut word for “sod house,” the traditional summer home of Labrador Inuit, which served as the inspiration of the stunning design. The center will be a home for permanent exhibits, audio-visual performing arts theatre, a café, gift shop and several associated offices.

In such a snow burdened area, the ability of the center to withstand some of the fiercest winter weather conditions was a crucial factor in the planning process. This was a primary reason that Kebony was chosen to clad the exterior of this 12,000 square foot, $12 million project. The natural wood exterior complements the surroundings with ease, helping it to stand out as both a regional and cultural gem.
