Hat House is a mid-century residential renovation project located in Nashville, TN. Designed by architect Michael Goorevich, the vision for Hat House was not to create new architecture on the site, but rather to enhance the existing structure. The home formerly had an asphalt shingle mansard roof over the central living space. The renovation included the reframing and recladding of the roof in Kebony modified wood. The wood used for the roof was then used to accent the home in several areas to create a cohesive aesthetic, including on window trim, siding, soffits, and screens.
