Hudson River Park’s Pier 26 is among the first of New York City’s waterfront piers to be revitalized for public use. The vision of Hudson River Park Trust was for the pier to provide usable outdoor space and ecological areas for studying the Hudson River estuary. The design team considered public input when designing spaces for active and passive recreation on the pier, and OLIN, Steven Dubner Landscaping, and Studio 431 worked together to successfully design and carry out the vision. Watch this video to learn more about the challenges the team overcame throughout the design process, as well as the incredible standout features of the finished product, including a massive Kebony wood furniture installation.
